Kerry’s Story
“I have a different life, but I have a beautiful life. You have to get beyond that space so that you can remember that you still have a lot of beautiful life left to live.”
—Kerry Dennis
Moving into the future by embracing new experiences and focusing on what matters most.
Kerry finds fulfillment and peace in life’s simple moments. Birdwatching, walking in the woods and sharing time with family and friends are always sources of joy.
She built a career in the financial services industry, helping others achieve their financial goals and dreams. But over time, tasks that once came easily began to feel overwhelming.

“I wasn’t able to make agendas. I couldn’t compose emails. I knew the small things that were slipping, and they didn’t feel right.”
Trusting her instincts, Kerry sought answers. With encouragement from her support system, she went to a research hospital where she began her journey to get a true diagnosis. She was diagnosed with the earlier stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
Faced with that very difficult news, she decided to move forward by focusing on what mattered to her most. She took practical steps early on, including documenting her wishes with an attorney to make sure her family did not need to guess about her wishes for the future.
Kerry began to notice that she still felt like herself. She embraced exercise, explored new experiences and leaned into the support of the people in her life who matter most.
“One of the biggest things that surprised me after my diagnosis is that I have so much joy in my life.”

Her mindset shows that even in uncertainty, life can still be rich, and deeply meaningful.
